Cary Simons, storyteller.

After more than 10 years, I am picking up the camera again. In early 2025, I also rediscovered my love for handwriting.

After long and deep inner work, I realize that my childhood passions are still just as strong and are part of who I am.

In my photography, I switch between my iPhone and my system camera with different lenses. I enjoy the search for my own 'language', in image and in word.

That I can lose myself in everything, from photographing butterflies to staring at black-and-white photos on old graves. No sense of time, as if I am briefly in another dimension. Imperfection, grain, and saturated tones of old slide film. The small details that make our lives so rich.

Back to what I loved doing as a child. Just slower now.
